The new course dates have just been confirmed for the very popular antenatal Pilates course at Studio 21, Yarm.
Starting on Friday 12th April, the pregnancy pilates classes run as a 5 week course.
They are on Friday’s 4:30pm – 5:25pm, you will need to be 14 weeks+ into your pregnancy and there is no upper limit.
During the course you will learn about the importance of posture and core
stability, start pelvic floor education ‘’pelvic floor training throughout
pregnancy can help to shorten the second stage of labour’’, and work through
a set of exercises designed specifically for your pregnancy.
The overall benefits of a Pilates Antenatal Course are;

-Improves co-ordination and balance
-Prepares the body for the demands of increased weight
-Improves relaxation skills
-Helps you to look good and lays the foundations for getting your figure

after the birth
-Most importantly it gets you fit for labour and delivery!! And it is fun!
The classes are delivered in an informal setting designed to relax and
encourage you to enjoy your pregnancy. They are suitable for all stages of
pregnancy, and for complete beginners to Pilates pros, you will only ever
work at your own pace. It is important that you mention to your midwife
about starting the classes as there may be certain contraindications, if you
are unsure please ask me.
You don’t need to bring anything along, all
equipment is provided, you will need to wear something comfortable that you
can move around in, like leggings or cotton trousers, a t.shirt or long
sleeved cotton top will be fine. Footwear isn’t necessary just socks.
