Like Bikram Yoga, Hot Pilates is practiced in a heated room, Vicky will take the class through a choreographed Pilates practice which will improve balance and posture, relieve stress, ease joints and challenge strength and flexibility.
Benefits:
The class will finish with a cool down, including a breathing and relaxation practice followed by refreshments and the opportunity to chat, socialise and ask any questions about Pilates, the workshop and bodies in general.
What to bring
Bring a bottle of water, a towel for your mat and a smaller towel for your face/hands.
What to wear
Normal Pilates clothing is fine, avoid baggy or cotton clothing, as you will get hot during class. Sweat wicking materials are useful; you may want to wear cropped leggings or shorts to stay cool. Footwear isn’t necessary.
Level
This is an intermediate level class, made more challenging by the room temperature, it’s not suitable for complete beginners. But you don’t need to be a Pilates pro to attend either! Modifications for exercises will be available as always.
Contraindications
Heated classes are not for everyone, if you are pregnant or have underlying heart issues, high blood pressure, diabetes, then this class is not advisable.
